  • 2013.07-present, as an associate professor in Jimei University.

  • 2008.08-2013.06, as an lecturer in Jimei University.

  • 2011.11-2017.04 post-doctoral research on the biology field in Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University.

  • 2007.08-2008.07, as a technician worked in the Xiamen Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, Xiamen, Fujian, China.

  • 2006.03-2007.03, as a visiting PhD student technician in Natural Resources Canada, Canadian Forest Service.

    Research Interests

I focus on the insect ecology and pest control, risk assessment and control strategy of plant quarantine pests. For many years, I have studied the outbreak population mechanism of cruciferous vegetable pests, and used non-chemical approaches to control pest population. During Ph.D. study period, I worked in the forestry research center of Natural Resources Canada to study prevention and control of pests by fungi, investigating the occurrence and outbreak of entomogenous fungi in natural forests, and using laboratory propagation methods to control the forest pest.

In the past several years,  I also study about the biology and ecology of invasive mango midges Procontarinia robusta. So far, some invasive mechanisms of midges has been found. How does the female attract the male during the shortly life? What is the composition of the sex pheromone? How do midges response to volatile odors of host plants? What is the plant defense when they are infested by midges? In recent years we have developed ecological pest control methods to reduce the use of chemical pesticides.
